Who We Are

Sustainable Home Life Foundation provides affordable and safe temporary, or transitional housing for displaced or struggling couples, families, and blended families as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) standards for allowable income and rents within Orem and the surrounding communities of the Provo-Orem metro area.

Our organization is a non-profit corporation, organized and operated exclusively to improve the lives of individuals and families by providing temporary or transitional affordable housing combined with personal development and leadership programs that focus on creating an environment where children and families can thrive and not just survive.

Our Goal

Our goal is to create a safe and sustainable transitional housing model that promotes education, advocacy and home-centered leadership and personal development.

The people our organization intends to serve include individuals recently divorced, new blended families and or couples or families in dire need of temporary housing or are facing immediate eviction. Our goal is to support couples and families in the greatest need of safe and affordable transitional housing while encouraging self-determination and sufficiency.

Our organization is charitable as defined in Treas.Reg1.501(c)(3)-1(d)(2) and operates exclusively to provide relief for the poor and distressed by supporting displaced couples and families to help them acquire safe and affordable temporary housing within the Provo-Orem, UT, MSA, in accordance with Rev. Rulings 67-138, 70-585 and 76-408. The program intends to offer the following:

  3. Counselling, parenting, and leadership training for couples to create a better home life.

Our Mission

Affordable Housing for Families

Our goal is to help couples and families as determined by HUD published standards, that are low income and cannot afford a decent rental apartment or home at market rates. Our plan is to acquire sustainable housing units either through donations from property owners, direct purchase of distressed properties, or from HUD and other agencies. The homes purchased will be within a 200-mile radius of Orem, Utah within the Denver HUD HomeOwnership Center (HOC) jurisdiction. There will be an application and financial suitability testing for people that are interested in obtaining housing.

We intend to rely on and partner with local housing authorities, other 501c3 social services, and housing organizations. Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO) and HUD-approved, 501c3 local housing counseling agencies to source and screen applicants.

Our organization intends to:

  1. Offer relief for poor and distressed families seeking temporary housing within our community.
  2. Assist with the elimination of prejudice and discrimination by providing access to transitional housing within safe neighborhoods.
  3. Provide affordable, safe, and sustainable temporary housing opportunities for the disadvantaged.

Who We Work With
